Ipswich Police Department to Hold Annual Drug Take Back Day and Touch-A-Truck Event

Wednesday April 16, 2025

IPSWICH – The Ipswich Police Department, in collaboration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and community partners, will hold an event to collect prescription drugs on Saturday, April 26.

The annual Drug Take Back Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ipswich Middle High School, 130 High St. It will be combined with the annual Touch-a-Truck event, giving younger residents the opportunity to explore police, fire, EMS and construction vehicles. The event is free to attend.

National Drug Take Back Day encourages the public to remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting.

Those who cannot attend are encouraged to dispose of their unwanted medication at one of two drop boxes, in the lobby of the police station, 15 Elm St., or at Town Hall, 25 Green St., outside the Council on Aging.  ♦
