GEORGETOWN – The Town Common invites all contetested and uncontested candidates for the May 12, 2025 election to kindly participate in a televised forum on Wednesday, April 23 from 7 :00 P.M. (sharp) to 8:30 P.M. The event will take place in the third floor meeting room at Georgetown Town Hall.
Each uncontested candidate who chooses to participate will be asked to provide a three-minute summary of why they are running for office and share any priorities for the coming year/years.
In addition to a three-minute closing statement, candidates for the contested race for Housing Authority will be asked three questions:
Question #1: Share with us what you see as the priorities of your position.
Question #2: What can you provide for Georgetown residents?
Question #3: What changes do you see for the housing authority and the residents?
In addition to a three-minute closing statement, candidates for the contested race for Select Board will be asked three questions:
Question #1: Share with us what you see as the priorities of your position.
Question #2: Share with the voters your thoughts on town spending.
Question #3: Why are you running?
The Town Common’s Senior Reporter Stewart Lytle will be addressing the candidates and seeking any clarifications should such a need arise. Lonnie Brennan will serve as time moderator and facilitator.
The Town Common hopes this forum will provide a good opportunity for residents to learn a little more about various elected positions in town and get to know straight from the candidates where they stand and why they seek your vote.
