Georgetown Library Rare Books Discussion with Ken Gloss
Monday, November 18 at 6PM, Georgetown Peabody Library, 2 Maple Street
Kenneth Gloss, internationally known rare book specialist and appraiser who runs the Brattle Book Shop in Boston, will talk about the “improbable finds” of his decades-long career and discuss the value of old and rare books. There is also a Q&A session at the conclusion of his talk. Following the talk and question-and-answer session, Ken will give free verbal appraisals of books participants have on hand or will do so at his shop in Boston at a later scheduled date.

Book Discussion at the Rowley Library Part 1

Part 1 of the Let’s Talk About It! Series: An interactive series about living, aging, and dying well while caring for the individual as well as loved ones. Every single person will have a last day.
Participants will discuss the book “Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End” by Atul Gawande, focusing on what becomes important to people as they age, what choices they will have to make, how they will choose to face their mortality, and how they can create a community of support. Copies of the book are available at the Rowley Library.

Gift Tags and Boxes Craft Workshop

Give Hallmark some heavy competition with this card, tag, and gift box workshop! Artist Sandra Golbert will show you how to make unique cards for every occasion, pop-ups, collage cards, and small one-of-a-kind boxes for small gifts. Very simple to do using unusual papers, tape, stamps, punches, scissors, and some glue (not to mention a great imagination!).
