NEWBURYPORT – The Newburyport Arts Collaborative brings to the Firehouse Center for the Arts some of Disney’s most popular characters in Frozen Jr.
Over six shows, two different casts of 60 local students will perform the stage adaptation of the Broadway musical March 6 through 10.
Frozen Jr. explores Anna and Elsa’s emotional bond and journey through the magical land of Arendelle in this story of love and acceptance. They discover their hidden potential and the power of sisterhood when faced with danger.
The condensed version is designed specifically for middle schoolers and features all the songs heard in the movie, plus five songs written specifically for the stage musical.
The musical is directed by Deirdre Budzyna and her husband John Budzyna. She teaches Expressive Learning and Multiple Intelligences at Northern Essex Community College. Being a theater educator for more than 30 years, Deirdre believes in the power of the arts to transform lives.
This musical marks Acting Out’s 20th year of providing performing arts opportunities in the greater Newburyport area.
