Newburyport Adult and Community Education to Offer ESL Classes

Newburyport Adult and Community Education will offer affordable ESL/English classes to non-English speaking individuals or those interested in increasing their skills. The classes are for beginning to intermediate level students and instruction will include speaking, reading, and writing. Walk-in registration and assessments will be held Monday, January 22nd from 5:30pm – 7:00pm at Nock Middle School Library, 70 Low Street, Newburyport. Students’ language skills will be assessed to determine the level and scope of instruction. The curriculum may be adapted to meet students’ specific needs and abilities.
The ESL classes will run for seven weeks on Monday evenings from 5:30pm – 7:00pm beginning January 29th and running through March 18th. There will be no class on February 19th. The fee is $80. Online registration is also available at newburyportadulted.org. All students must attend on Monday, January, 22nd.
Whether a newcomer to the area, a parent of school children or an employee working in a multicultural environment, all are welcome. Classes are open to anyone in the Greater Newburyport region and beyond.
Newburyport Adult and Community Education (NACE) is a fully self-supporting program. Our budget is funded primarily from course fees. Additional funding is made available from grants and individual donors. We operate under the auspices of the Newburyport Public School system but we receive no tax dollars.
