NEWBURYPORT — The Greek Food Festival sponsored by the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Newburyport at 7 Harris Street will take place on Friday and Saturday, July 29-30 from 11:30am to 8pm and Sunday, July 31 from 11:30am to 3pm.
There will be indoor and outdoor seating as well as take out available. Featured foods include gyros, lamb shanks, moussaka (eggplant), chicken kabobs, loukaniko (Greek sausage), keftethes, (meatballs), spinach pie, pastichio (Greek lasagna), Greek salad, stuffed grape leaves and fish (plaki) on Friday only. Favorite Greek pastries available will Include baklava, kourambiethes (sugar cookies), koulourakia (butter cookies), rice pudding, galaktoboureko (custard dessert) and much more.
There will be live Greek music by OPA Entertainment on Friday and Saturday from 4 to 8pm as Harris Street will be blocked off for dancing during that time. Admission is free and Nicholson Hall at 7 Harris Street is air-conditioned.
