NEWBURYPORT — The Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce and Industry announces their 56th Annual Meeting taking place on Thursday, May 12th at the Blue Ocean Music Hall. With more than 800 members ranging from Southern New Hampshire to Ipswich this regional chamber is poised for continued growth.
The Greater Newburyport Chamber has a history of dedicated leadership on their Board including long term supporters such as Mary Anne Clancy from Institution For Savings and Ginny Eramo from Interlocks amongst 20 more leaders representing a variety of successful business sectors. The annual meeting is an opportunity to thank the current board, and welcome in new board members from the region.
“Our board members are the backbone of our success.” says President Nate Allard, “We could not do all we do for the economic growth of our region without their support and leadership.”
In addition to announcing the change in leadership roles and providing an overview of The Chamber’s annual strategy, we are excited to announce Rosalin Acosta as our keynote speaker this year.
Acosta is the Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In her role, Secretary Acosta manages the Commonwealth’s workforce development and labor departments to ensure that workers, employers, and the unemployed have the tools, training, and safety resources needed to succeed in the Massachusetts economy.
The Chamber is excited to welcome the dynamic and gregarious Master of Ceremonies, Mike Lynch of Channel 5. Mike Lynch is a sports correspondent for WCVB Channel 5’s award-winning sports department after serving for 34 years as the principal weeknight sports anchor for WCVB for 34 years.
