Newburyport – Turning Point, Inc. has been selected to receive a donation recently from Newburyport Bank through its Charitable Foundation. Earlier this month, Turning Point received notification of a $13,551 grant award to partially fund a kitchen renovation at a group home in Amesbury.
Since 1971, Turning Point, Inc., headquartered in Newburyport and with 34 residential group homes in various cities and towns throughout the Merrimack Valley and North Shore of Massachusetts, has supported adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the most underserved and vulnerable members of our communities.
“Turning Point is humbled to receive this grant,” said Alan Klein, President & CEO of Turning Point. “This award from Newburyport Bank provides the additional funds necessary to renovate a kitchen that is decades old and ready for an upgrade. Combined with another generous donation from the family of an individual served at Turning Point, we are excited to be able to implement these changes. We look forward to starting the work soon.”
“Our partnership with Turning Point reflects a common philosophy when it comes to mission. Both organizations are committed to supporting and enhancing the quality of life for all individuals in our area,” said Newburyport Bank Charitable Foundation, Inc. Treasurer Timothy Felter. “The work that Turning Point does to empower those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, so that they can live successful lives, is deeply gratifying. We are happy to support their mission in this way, particularly as they are celebrating their 50th anniversary.”
