The Greater Cape Ann Community Collaborative, a coalition of the municipal governments of Boxford, Essex, Gloucester, Hamilton, Ipswich, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Middleton, Topsfield, Rockport, and Wenham is urging residents of the region who have not been vaccinated to do so at one of the regularly scheduled GCACC clinics.
The State of Massachusetts has seen a rise in COVID-19 cases and deaths in recent days, largely attributed to the Delta variant of the virus, and vaccinations will help stem the increase. The Delta variant is far more contagious than past versions of the virus.
“The trendline in cases in Massachusetts is troubling. Getting vaccinated prevents severe illness, hospitalization, and death; it also helps reduce the spread of the virus in communities,” said Ipswich Health Director Colleen Fermon. “Vaccines limit the chance that someone will get COVID-19, and the chance they will spread it to friends and loved ones.”
GCACC clinics are open to all Massachusetts residents age 12 and older. Vaccines are free to all. Identification and health insurance are not required.
